Welcome to divergent money matters!

Thank-you for joining me in finding more about money matters and financial management through a neurodivergent lens. This is my first blog and I am excited to share with you the knowledge I have gained through working in community services supporting people in financial hardship and in addition, being neurodivergent (autistic/adhd).

There are unique challenges that neurodivergent people in our community face every day, specifically around how money is earned, spent, and how problems are dealt with.

I hope to dedicate each blog entry to a different topic, which aims to provide support to those who are looking for support with their finances through a neurodivergent lens.

We all deal with money every day, but it does not come easy to all of us. For some us we might not have had the best role models in life that inspire a system to manage our money that is self protective, maybe your school only taught you a few basics.

The one thing that I will say, is that money management is just as individual as each brain is diverse. So what works for your friend, might not work for you. What I will say is that once you know what works best for you and what your spending habits are, you will be on a road to setting goals that you can realistically aim for and be proud of once you reach them.

Thanks again for visiting my site, and I look forward to the next part of this journey.

Next time: My story - How did I get here?

I would like to acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging for they embrace the memories, traditions, and culture of Australia.
